On 7 August 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Manama celebrated the ASEAN Day to mark the 58th anniversary of the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). H.E. Mr. Sumate Chulajata, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Kingdom of Bahrain and Chairperson of the ASEAN Committee in Manama, Bahrain (ACMB), presided over the event.
 
Distinguished guests included H.E. Ambassador Khaled Yousef Al-Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Hatem Abdulhameed Hatem, Chief of Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain; Shaikh Daij bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the ASEAN-Bahrain Council, and ASEAN Ambassadors and Representatives in Bahrain — H.E. Dato Shazryll Zahiran, Malaysian Ambassador; H.E. Mr. Ardi Hermawan, Indonesian Ambassador; H.E. Ms. Anne Jalando-on Louis, Philippine Ambassador; and Mrs. Nazirah Zaini, Chargé d’Affaires of Brunei Darussalam. Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain and ASEAN embassies were also present.
 
On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Sumate led the ASEAN Flag Hoisting Ceremony and delivered remarks highlighting ASEAN’s priorities in 2025 and the growing partnership between ASEAN and Bahrain. He commended the success of the 2nd ASEAN-GCC Summit held in June 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and recognized the vital role of the ASEAN-Bahrain Council in enhancing economic, trade and investment cooperation between ASEAN Member States and Bahrain.
