On 10^th June 2024, Mr. Nuttapat Chumnijarakij, Chargé d'Affaires a.i., the Royal Thai Embassy in Manama, in partnership with H.E. Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, presided over the “The Greenery Project on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King of Thailand’s 72^nd Birthday Anniversary” at the University’s park in which 72 golden shower trees, or Cassia fistula, the national tree of Thailand, were planted.

The initiative aims not only to celebrate the birthday anniversary of the King of Thailand, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, who turns 72 years old on 28^th July 2024, but also to contribute the Thai community’s effort to Bahrain’s afforestation drive under the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain.

High-level participants included H.E. Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, and representatives from government and leading private sector as well as the University students and Thai community.
