On 27 February 2025, H.E. Ambassador Sumate Chulajata visited the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) in Bahrain, at the invitation of the Industry & Energy Committee of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), along with other ambassadors in Bahrain.

H.E. Ambassador attended a presentation on GPIC's history, production capacities, and global market presence, and participated in a guided tour of GPIC's production facilities.

The Ambassador commended GPIC's innovation, excellence, and sustainability, and reaffirmed Thailand's readiness to explore trade and investment opportunities with GPIC.

GPIC is a leading petrochemical producer in the region, jointly owned by Bapco Energies of Bahrain, the Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) of Kuwait, and the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). The company boasts an annual production capacity of over 1.5 million metric tons of ammonia, urea, and methanol.
